Professional Bloggers:  Countering Islamophobia in the media demands not only "the proper response", but also "volume of responses".  We are organizing small teams who will be responsible to monitor and coordinate blogs at major newspapers and TV shows.  It will be  "unorganized collaboration".  This means minimal rules, few basic "guidelines, but with a clear understanding of the overall framework and dependence on personal skills.  If you are a person with clear opinions, enjoy blogging, command strong writing skills, please come and join us. We certinaly need your help.

School District Coordinator:  Each teacher can impact the lives of hundreds, possibly thousands of students during the course of his / her career.  It is clear we have to do a better job in relating the principles of Islam to our teachers.  This will benefit teachers in terms of their attitude towards Muslims and Islam, address much of their misconceptions, and certainly improve the environment for Muslim students, especially relating to fasting and prayers, Islamic holidays, sensitivity towards Muslim diet and dress code.  The task of the coordinator can be as simple as collecting names and email address -- usually available from each school website, and adding these contacts to our Newsletter subscription.  Activities can also include coordination of presentation events to teachers, either on a small scale in a particular school or on a district basis during the days of "Teacher Conferences".  MuslimBridges will provide a guide and a successful example of an event conducted after 9/11 to over 1000 teachers in a single district.  Imagine if this can be duplicated in every single district! WHY NOT.
