Quranic Reflections - Surah Al-Ra’ad (#13) |
|
|
Surah Al-Ra’ad (Thunder) was revealed in Madina after
Surah Muhammad but some commentators believe that it is a Makki Surah!
Summary: The Book of revelation is true. It is
confirmed by the signs to be seen in the visible nature. God, who created
such mighty forces in outer nature, can rise up man again after death.
God’s Knowledge is all-compassing so are the power of goodness.
The righteous
seek the pleasure of God and find peace. The evil ones break his laws, deny,
dispute and reject faith. The wrath of God will take them unaware
The revelations are true 13:1 “These are the verses of the
book which have been revealed unto you from your Lord, (they are) the
truth but most people believe not”
- Toward the end
(13:31) we read “Those to whom We have (giving) the
book rejoice at what has been revealed unto you; But there are among the
Confederates (Al Ahzab) who reject part of it, Say (to them): “I am
commanded only to worship Allah and not to join partners with Him. To Him
alone I call and to Him is my return”
- The Surah describes (Ulou Al Al’Bab) those who have mature brains to see and
understand the truth and their reward in the Day of judgment (13:21-24
&28):
- Fulfill (youfouna)
their commitment to Allah
- Break not their covenant (Mithaqahum) with Him
- Those who join
that which Allah has commanded to be joined
- They fear God
- They dread
the terrible reckoning
- Remain patience for the sake of God
- Perform prayers
- Spend out of that which We have bestowed on them,
secretly and openly
- Face evil with good
- Those who believe and whose hearts find tranquility
in the remembrance of Allah (13:28)
- God does not change people if they did not change
themselves (13: 11)
- The Surah contains numerous evidence of Allah and His
creations on earth and in the universe
