Seven Million American Muslims will have more to celebrate on Eid this weekend - access to Islamic programming!

October 12, 2007, Temecula, California - for immediate release : While cable and dish are swamped with religious channels, Muslims have unequal opportunity for access.  Not for economical, content quality, or viewership concerns, rather fear from reprisals by small interest groups who are well financed, and organized to orchestrate anti-Islamic campaigns in the media, applying pressure on media executives.

Huda Live TV, is the latest addition to a total of six channels found on MuslimBridges website, with free "One Click" access.  MuslimBridges is particularly excited for this new addition; it is the first "commercial-free" 24/7 English programming channel.  "Not only the Muslim community will appreciate this broadcast, but all of our friends and neighbors can now drop in sometimes and get to know more about Islam directly from Muslims".   Said Stephanie Khan, communication representative with MuslimBridges.org

Huda is an Arabic word, its meaning is guidance. While the original signals of Huda broadcast originate from the M. East, programming include many American and European Muslim scholars who frequently appear on shows, or temporarily reside in the M.East while pursuing Ph.Ds in Islamic studies.

"We have been working to release this channel since our website went public back in Feb. 07.  Many technical issues had to be addressed in expectation of huge viewership, ranging from bandwidth, delivery speed and quality" Said Kamal Romani, technical Director with MuslimBridges.org.  Users will access Huda in broadband, at high definition quality.  While MuslimBridges.org had to upgrade its bandwidth for other programming numerous times, it is hopeful current set up configuration is appropriate to handle the volume of visitors expected.

MuslimBridges.org is extending all of its programming to Islamic Centers, and any non-profit organizations at no cost.  It is the hopes of the organization to bridge the gap in public access to quality Islamic programming, shedding more light to every Muslim home in America.
